The good news and the not so good news!

The good news is I have been actually working on setting up the shop. The bad news is I broke it on Monday night and actually have to start all over again with a fresh copy of the program.....ooops! So this time when it says "save file before making any changes" I think I might just have to do it. Crap, crap, double crap. Hopefully it will be quicker second time round because honestly the speed with which I got this far last time was way too slow so this time better be quicker or I'm going to be annoyed.

On to better news. I have been knitting and I have been crocheting and I have been doing the washing, oh and I have a new obsession. More on that later.

The knitting: The orange cardy now has a completed back, two fronts, one sleeve and the second sleeve has begun. I spose you want pictures huh? I know it sort of looks like a pile of knitting, but the thing that is freaking me out just a little bit is the size of the ball remaining. Remember here that I started with a 100g ball of 4 ply and granted I am only knitting a 3 month old size, but seriously once I have finished this second sleeve I'm going to have HEAPS left. Here was I not cutting the yarn between the pieces (hence the mess up there) just in case there wasn't enough and I had to frog the lot and it's soooooo not going to be a problem! Might use the rest for a matching hat or a stripy something later maybe.

The crocheting: Cute bird (named by Hunter) came to stay last week.

He has made himself at home on Hunter's bed and is already an important part of the bedtime routine. Not having him there at bedtime is like asking someone to chop their arm off some nights!!
I think someone likes his new toy don't you?

Quirky thing though, I used the same pattern for both birds and look at the difference.
Weird huh? Nice that the small one belongs to the smaller kid and the big one to the bigger kid!

Oh and the new obsession, it's somewhat embarrassing but I don't care. I went to SnB this week with my copy of the current Better Homes and Gardens (cut out the sniggering down the back there!) and explained that there was this rug in there that I thought I liked the look of (In my head I am seeing it as baby blankets rather than a floor rug). The sceptical looks soon turned to ones of interest when the relevant page was found.
I have a whole selection of colours of Biggan Design wool. Some left over from other projects and some new balls as well. Figured I'd get started on one after I had picked Zac up from kinder. 90 minutes later...
Zac was completely fascinated by the whole process, "do one in yellow mum" and " do one in orange", etc!
I do have some green, some purple, some blue, some pink, some red....I wonder how many flowers I will need...........

I love the Postman

Well not really, but when I'm waiting for a delivery and I can't wait to get my hands on the parcel that I know is coming, I could love the postie for bringing me my package!

She's based in New Zealand and she's new. The colour is Sweet Chilli and I have a vague thought of making a pair of socks for my cold feeted husband to wear. They are 80% Merino, 20% nylon and feel soft and smooshy. Think I came across an add for her yarn on Ravelry, or maybe Twist Collective, don't remember now, but she is book marked for sure now!

Mother's Day

I had a lovely day, the boys let me sleep in until 9am and then piled the presents on. The big boys had each made a present at school and kinder, such beautiful gifts, such thoughtful gifts. Jules had stopped via a shop during the week and purchased a Nintendo Wii just for me, well as just for me as anything is really!!! So while he made me breakfast I set it up, created Mii's for me and the kids and started playing, coz hey why not!

Oh and the knitting is going slow at the moment, have finished the back and one front of the orange cardy and have cast on for the second front. Haven't done any on the vest.

Got a little distracted when I found this post in this blog. Had to make one.

Very cute. Not quite as cute as hers, the eyes are too high...oops! Oh well Zac doesn't care so I'm not going to worry about it! Oh and he's only little he is sitting on my lens cap from my camera!

I'm dreaming!

I am you know, dreaming. Not in the wishing for something way, or the day dreaming sort of way, but the at night sort of way and I have realised I have barely had a dream in the last 18 months. Certainly not a single one that I can remember. The last few nights my dreams have been the vivid, am I really sleeping kind. Haven't had any of them since the hormone induced weird ones you get while you are pregnant that are supposed to prepare you for having a baby.....yeah right! The thing is, with the return of dreaming has been a sharp increase in the ability to remember. This may sound weird but I have had "pregnancy brain" for too long, heck the "baby" is 19 months old and I've been lucky to hold a thought in my head for all of 10 secs, let alone for the time it takes to leave the loo and wash my hands. But in the last week, my memory is starting (and I do mean only just starting) to work a little better. I can remember something I planned yesterday when I get up today, well at least at some point during the day! Don't get me wrong I still need the calendar (it's not called my external brain for nothing) for the not so every day stuff, and I am mostly remembering what has to go to school or kinder on which day (yes I get the right kid to the right place....picture me blowing raspberries at you here!) it's the other stuff, the library bag, the "sounds" book, the hats..... I know I'm busy, one kid in prep, one in 3 year old kinder and one apparently permanently attached to me, and everyone has a schedule that's different, hell I even added to the mix when I started working again one day a week in March. The difference between the "out-of-control" hoping like hell you haven't forgotten anything mayhem of first term is so unlike the ordered, routine of this term it's almost like there's someone new in the picture who has their sh*t together. Oh hang on, that would be me with the dreaming and the memory working. Amazing what a couple of weeks can do.

So anyway, me and my recovering brain have been working on the shop stuff, finally got the background to do what it is supposed to do. A couple more things to get sorted and then it will be stock the shop time. I'm hoping it will be all up and running by the end of the month. Barring: sick children, sick me, a loss of memory......you know the usual stuff!!!!

Oooh and I'm loving my book.

A new book

I have a new book. I put it on my Christmas list but it never appeared so I recently ordered it. After having the order in place for a couple of weeks and then finding out it was being stocked by a different company I finally picked it up this afternoon.
